Dynamic analysis of railway bridges exposed to high-speed trains considering the vehicle–track–bridge–soil interaction

Abstract A new semi-analytical approach to analyze the dynamic response of railway bridges subjected high-speed trains is presented. The bridge modeled as an Euler–Bernoulli beam on viscoelastic supports that account for flexibility and damping underlying soil. track represented by bedding. Complex modal expansion models performed considering non-classical damping, coupling two subsystems achieved component mode synthesis (CMS). resulting system equations coupled with a moving mass–spring–damper (MSD) passing train using discrete substructuring technique (DST). To validate presented modeling approach, its results are compared those finite element model. In application, influence soil–structure interaction, subsystem, geometric imperfections due irregularities example demonstrated.
